Developed at Rebellion by the team responsible for the original 1999 classic, in the all-new Aliens vs. Predator players have the chance to take the role of the three infamous species; the Colonial Marine, the Predator and the Alien.
Each of the three species has its very own distinct story-driven single-player campaign mode that interweaves with the campaigns of the other two species. Aliens vs. Predator will also feature unique 3-way online multiplayer, allowing gamers to pit the three species against each other in the ultimate battle for survival and for the right to be crowned the deadliest species.
On planet BG-386 a colonist mining group discovers an ancient pyramid containing a dark and horrible secret. Across the stars a race of warriors is alerted to the discovery of their pyramid and a hunting party is dispatched to ensure that it remains sealed at all costs, whilst deep inside the ruined pyramid a malevolent intelligence awakes from centuries of dormancy.
The Marines story is an incredible fight against the odds, and the horrors lurking in the dark. Beset on all sides yet armed to the teeth, the Colonial Marine represents humanitys last stand with the firepower to fight back.
As the Alien, players will discover what its like to be the most murderous and lethal creature in the universe, with the ability to traverse any surface with awesome agility in order to get close enough to unleash its deadly teeth and claws.
A master of the hunt, the Predator grants the player a suite of exotic weaponry and equipment with which to stalk its unknowing prey. Earn the greatest honour by ambushing prey up-close and butchering them for a gory trophy kill.

Summary: Epic, absolutely
Great game, short but engaging story, brilliant graphics and great fun online. what more can you want? really enjoyed all three stories (theres a seperate story for each race) with the predator story being my favorite. If you dont really enjoy first person games, dont get it, but if you do, this will keep you on your toes and scare you witless in places.

Summary: A really fun game with Aliens and Predators!
If you are a fan of either (or both) the Aliens or Predator films / games, you should really enjoy this game.
It feels like an updated version of the old AVP2 game, with great new graphics and an original storyline.
The games looks and feels great, and it was a pleasure to play. I've now played all three characters - the Alien, the Predator, and the Human. As an Alien, you are a killing machine - it's fun and bloody. As a Human, you're a colonial marine, and have to fight to stay alive. As a Predator, you are a fully-trained hunter - but your mission is to prevent the humans from their objective (I wont spoil it by saying what that is).
All three are great fun to play - and each 'mini-game' (storyline) takes no less than about 2 hours to complete - if you are a gamer. If you don't try and complete the whole thing in one day, it should take you a about 5 different 2-hour sittings.
And then there's the multi-player options - which keep the game going for much longer.
For me, it's so far the best game of 2010.

Summary: AVP vs The Critics
Everyone who likes Aliens or Predator will love this game, it's that simple. Having read numerous reviews bashing this game, I was a little dubious as to whether to spend my hard earned money on it. Don't listen to the reviews, because it's definitely worth a punt if you've got any interest in it at all. If like me, you loved the original films, and the original pc game from 99, then this game is a delicious slice of fanfare with an oldschool vibe.
In terms of single player, you've got the ability to play as each of 3 species, each with their own 4 hour campaign. The story interlinks so you've got the added option of playing each level by species to really understand what's going on, although really that's not too important as the story is paperthin. Each one is different and it's refreshing to have 3 completely different species with their own unique abilitys and gory kill moves. Being blunt, the campaign is really entertaining but is not without some technical issues. The controls take some time to master but that's part of the fun. The AI leaves a bit to be desired but it's also forgivable if you love the source material. The sound effects are brilliantly faithful to the films, and add massively to the tension that made the films so iconic. In terms of graphics, AVP is really detailed when it comes to character models, but the levels could of had more polish, however, they're fine if your not too demanding.
The multiplayer is a breath of fresh air after playing so many other first person shooters. The three species play completely differently so you often feel more attached to one of the factions, although it's nice to mix it up and really see what AVP has to offer. The various modes are all entertaining, with infestation being an example of the unique multiplayer experience this game has offer. The game starts with upto 18 players, 17 being marines and one being an Alien. Whoever the Alien kills becomes an Alien, so the hunters become the hunted. The multiplayer retains the sense of tension that makes AVP, and gives it a totally unique flavour. Also, survival mode is really entertaining and provides a microcosm of the all round experience. When you've got a team of 4, you've got a mix of left 4 dead and nazi zombies. However, beware that the controls are quite oldschool, and you dont have the ability to crouch or use sights, but this really enhances the reality of the thrill.
Overall, AVP does suffer in some areas, but it's definitely forgivable if you're craving some epic wristblade, pulse rifle, or double mouthed action. This game is without a doubt a flawed gem, it's impossible not to enjoy the iconic characters, tense atomosphere, and brilliant trophy kills. It captures the essence of the original, and that can only be a good thing.

Summary: Welcome To The Corps!
First off this isnt a game for everyone this will either get you into the world of avp or hate it. Dont go by anyone elses review i always say its your oppinion i dont go by online reviews or magazine reviews i play and judge em for myself. Ok.. to the the game am not gonna say the story or where its set youve proberly read it on the page description first off you have 3 species Alien, Predator and Human colonial marine each have theyre own campaign, the game is very dark, creepy and damn right scary esp the marine campaign makes you feel clostriphobic esp when you hear the aliens run around in the vents scary stuff. The 3 campaign revolve around one another, theres 6 missions for each species each with there own style, the predator stalks its prey with camoflage, heat vision/alien vision and distraction tools plus an arsenel of weapons, the alien is more the quiet, fast supprising one it can run very fast, leap and stick to any surface and they can sence prey through walls, the marine gets thrown in the deep end with only a few guns, flares and a flash light the marine has a motion detector which blips whenever a enemy is nearby. This game is very brutal it ranges from decapitation, impalement, dismemberment(if you dont know what they mean they mean ripped appart basically) both the alien and predator have stealth kills(all in FPS) and knock down frontal kills each end with a satisfying smile on your face and WHOA in your voice the marine doesnt have any kills exept melee attack and shooting. The graphics are astounding, details on character models are so realistic and the enviroments are exellent and the sound effects are authentic to the movies. The multiplayer is really fun it has 6 match types and 10 maps great stealth killing one another it holds up to 18 players, the maps vairy from colonys to ruins to the shifting pyrimid from avp(2004) plus you can rank up and unlock new skins for each species. if your a fan of the movies and the pc games defo get this you wont be dissapointed i had high expectations for this and when i got and played it i was gob smacked rebellion done an amazing job just like the first avp you can tell the knew what they were doing im giving this great game 5 stars and a 10/10 im defo not dissapinted.

Summary: alien vs predator rocks
this game is an instant classic from the very first to the very last i loved it. In the marine campaign the shooting is brilliant,using the smart gun (heavy machine gun for people who arnt big fans of aliens) was really good fun and smacking the aliens with it was brilliant.Also in your arsenal you have the vp78 pistol,zx76 shotgun,m41a/2 pulse rifle,m260b flamethrower and the m42c scoped rifle.All of the guns are very good at killing aliens except the flamethrower which causes very low damage and the after firing all of your ammo the alien will just attack you and set your dumb arse on fire.All of the campaigns are good but some are better than others.The marine campaign is the best,then the alien and lastly the predator>the only problem with the predator is that on full charge your plasma gun will only kill about 2 or 3 enemies and then your invisibility camo doesn't work for more than ten seconds.The alien campaign is very good if you dont just run at a big group of marines and try to kill them because it won't work,the best thing to do is pick them off slowly one by one and dont use the heavy attack uless you are trying to break a block.Overall the game is extremely good fun and can be bought relatively cheap.Aliens Vs Predator (Xbox 360)
